Fair Trade is a tangible contribution to the fight against poverty, climate change and the economic crisis that hit hardest on the world’s most vulnerable populations. A third of the world’s population lives on less than two dollars a day. The global crisis confirms the need for a fair and sustainable economy locally and globally. Trade must benefit the most vulnerable and deliver sustainable livelihoods by developing opportunities for small and disadvantaged producers.
Het internationale, onafhankelijke FSC-keurmerk verzekert dat grondstoffen voor hout- en papierproducten afkomstig zijn uit verantwoord beheerde bossen, met alle aandacht voor de mensen die van het bos afhankelijk zijn. Alle grote milieu- en ontwikkelingsorganisaties bevelen FSC aan. Dit maakt FSC uniek. Parthen kiest daarom voor FSC papier en draagt daarmee bij aan de bescherming van bossen wereldwijd!

Township Patterns is a social enterprise producing eco-friendly conference bags from 100% natural fibres sourced in Africa. The bags are made by previously disadvantaged women in independent sewing co-ops around Cape Town that are supported by ASB non-profit (the sister NPO). Each item sold directly improves their lives – this is clarified by a Social Impact Index which is sent to customers together with the quote – increasing the transparency of the Township business model. Township Patterns is an accredited member of the World Fair Trade Organization.
